Anderson Family

God has blessed us with the wonderful opportunity to have a beautiful, large family! We enjoy the challenges, laughter, love, and growth that come with parenting an amazing daughter in college, an outstanding son in high school, wonderful, although quite busy, boy/girl toddler twins, and a precious little baby girl with Down Syndrome! Life is full of adventure and discovery! We wouldn't have it any other way! We hope you enjoy the "stories" life presents us everyday! This journey is truly a gift!

Cleaning Monday!

Today was really pretty enjoyable and not so fast paced! No doctors appointments, busy schedules, etc. The babies seemed to realize it too! :) Love taking a minute to dance with them when I load them in the van at the store (to a few funny glances from strangers) and steal extra kisses ( just to let them know they're really special) while I strap them in rather than racing off to the next errand! Sweet angels!

Annabelle started my day with a snicker! A dear friend had bought the babies juice boxes for our visit at her house Sunday evening! She had sent the remaining ones home with us. The twins are still working on mastering the "'don't squeeze when you're not sucking" aspect of them and make quite the mess sometimes! This morning I thought I would let them have one while sitting on the alphabet mat in the kitchen. Cade squirted a tiny bit out, so I grabbed the sponge and wiped it up. I just left it on the floor as I knew there would be more soon. I walked away for a moment and when I came back I saw Annabelle wiping the floor near her. I thought, what a good girl! I passed back by in another couple of minutes and saw her doing it again. I was beginning to wonder if she was just really messy....so I waited and watched (okay, spied)! That little stinker was intentionally squirting her box to make a mess and then get to use the cool sponge to clean it up. Goodness, doesn't she know I have plenty for her to clean already?

Speaking of the trip to my friend's house Sunday evening..., when I got home it was an hour past the babies bed time so I got them unloaded quickly and lowered the garage door as I scooted to get them to bed! A couple of hours had passed and I was my having my "wind down" time on the computer (yes, Facebook) in the study on the front side of the house. The house was dark and quiet! (so rare) I heard this knocking/scratching but just ignored it at first. In a few minutes I heard it again. I got a little spooked and crept to the front door to turn the outdoor porch lights on. I didn't see anything, so I opened the door (probably not the smartest thing). I looked down and saw our "usually indoor" yorkie who had this look on her little face like, "I'll never survive a night on the streets, please let me in". She must've run out from the kitchen into the garage as I was unloading and found herself on the wrong side of the garage door when it lowered! I let her in and I thought she was going to wake the whole house up! She ran everywhere as fast as lightning acting as if she had been rescued from certain doom (or like she does after a bath :) same thing! )! What a spoiled little critter! At least she knew to go to her front door and knock!

Cade was so cute today. Lots of smiles and more back to himself after that dreaded flu shot! Recently, he has started holding on to certain items that he forms an affection for. Usually its a little black matchbox car (a lamborghini) that Shane gave him. He can go through a whole nap still holding it! Tonight however, it was a round hair brush that had been Darby's! He wanted to go to bed with it. I know he has all those curls, but goodness..not what I expected! I wasn't really in the mood to argue...sure hope its not tangled all in his hair in the morning! Daddy will love me for that!

Abigail has been cooing and so pleasant today! She does like to be held! Can't blame her, so do I! :)

Annabelle helped me remeber what I needed at Costco this afternoon. She would call out things that she saw and recognized.."yogurt" sounded more like "yogor" and bananas..which I can't really even describe her version. People still stare at the huge double mountain buggy stroller I push with one hand while pulling a buggy ( that Abigail and her carrier are on) with the other! Quite the little train! I get lots of pats on the shoulder from elderly ladies as I pass. That always cracks me up..along with the "bless your heart..you've got your hands full" from everyone as I navigate the aisles! I try not to give the look of, "ya think?" I just smile and tell them we stay very busy, but love every minute of it (we really do...except maybe when we're really tired) jk!! I think its even more humorous when James does it all by himself! Go Daddy..he is my super hero! I don't think many men could handle all three and remember, and shop for, what groceries we're out of at the house! Whew! And Annabelle has been known to add things to the buggy, so you have to watch for that too!

James did have to pull the old picture of him back out again this evening and ask Annabelle who it was once more. Again, she said, "ah belle" Wonder how often this is going to happen? Proud papa!

Enjoyed dinner with the all the family (except Darby) and watching funny stuff on TV with Shane after the babies went down! Nice to have a little time with him since its fall break!

Every day ceratinly is a blessing! Squeezed everything possible out of this one :)
