Anderson Family

God has blessed us with the wonderful opportunity to have a beautiful, large family! We enjoy the challenges, laughter, love, and growth that come with parenting an amazing daughter in college, an outstanding son in high school, wonderful, although quite busy, boy/girl toddler twins, and a precious little baby girl with Down Syndrome! Life is full of adventure and discovery! We wouldn't have it any other way! We hope you enjoy the "stories" life presents us everyday! This journey is truly a gift!

wonderful weekend

Goodness, we've had such a busy week and part of the weekend! I have missed being able to blog! These little punkins have been so funny! It's just so sad that I can't remember past a day all the things I want to note that they do. Agh!

Tuesday, we went to Daddy's office and got to visit with everyone there! The twins love working the water cooler. Sheez! One handle releases hot water so we have to block it! Annabelle put her verbal skills to the test as she tried to say some of the names...We got a definite "Izzy" for Elizabeth, a version of Kendra, and one of Mark as well! So funny! Mrs. Carolyn gave them cookies and they certainly enjoyed them! :) Miss Abigail showed off her rolling over! :) We wrapped up the visit with both of them blowing bye bye kisses to Mr. Mark and Mr. David. Then 4 people walked us out to load. It does take a lot to get this show moving! LOL!

Wednesday, we went to Alabama to visit Grandma DeLong, Nanny, Papa, Aunt Rachel and the cousins. We were having a lovely time until Aunt Rachel showed up with a friend's baby boy (Ryan, 8mths old). Little Miss Annabelle was NOT ready to share her Aunt Rachel! She pouted from the moment they arrived! She would have nothing to do with either of them! The sweet little boy crawled over to her and really worked her until he won her over after several minutes ( funny pics of it on my FB). It's amazing how she likes her world to stay the same and structured exactly how she is used to it! Cade really didn't mind him and was actually happy to see a male! Little Abigail enjoyed lots of time being held by her great grandmother. It was nice to get to see everyone. Now Nanny and Papa will be gone to Nova Scotia for a month, so the kisses will have to hold the twins!

Thursday, we enjoyed running a few errands and staying around the house. At lunch, I got on to Cade for taking Annabelle's last chicken nugget off her tray and popping it in his mouth. I made it sound like she was so sad. Cade gave me this look, then reached his little fingers in his mouth and pulled out a chewed up blob of meat and plopped it back on her tray. I couldn't believe it. Before I could say anything, she picked it up and ate it! ick. And the pediatrician thinks we could possibly have a chance of keeping one well when the other gets sick. Not a prayer! Tara came by to meet Abigail in the afternoon (she had been in the NICU when Tara came to the hospital). We had a great time playing with all the babies! Annabelle felt she needed to give Tara direction in feeding Abigail a bottle! I don't think she trusts many people with her baby!

Saturday, we had the Mom's of Multiples Fall festival at a park nearby. The twins saw a ton of b/g twin sets. We haven't seen a lot before! Usually its g/g or b/b. Cade worked his way mingling through the crowd and was always with little toddler girls when I would catch him. Annabelle played with a few others, but seemed happy to find Cade.  They got to see and "hear" a firetruck. They were a bit scared of it. Too many rescue vehicles and ambulances at our house in the past, I guess! Annabelle found the container of mini sugar cookies on the food table and continued to grab 2 at a time (One for her and one for Cade). I think she went back 3 or 4 times! They had fun playing with sand toys and going down the slides. They were so sandy and hot by the time we left! So were we!

Today was really nice. A rainy Sunday. We haven't had rain in forever ( literally around 30 days) and it was a light rain that lasted all day. Just a good relaxing afternoon! We put rain jackets on the twins and let them play barefooted outside! They loved it! Annabelle quickly found some puddles and splashed her little tootsies in them. She danced and let the rain land on her little cheeks and tongue! :) So fun to see them enjoy little things! Cade got in a hurry to get down our steep hill and face planted then started to roll! I caught him before he got too far! He didn't seem to be bothered by it! Shane came out and played too! Lots of giggles and smiles! Even the golden ran around chasing pinecones Shane had thrown for her! We eventually had to strip the babies at the door and get some dry clothes on them in a hurry! It was actually cool out (64 degrees). Then we enjoyed rocking on the porch and doing a whole lot of nothing. These days are far too rare!

(For the extremely Southern and proper folks, you may want to skip this story, not sure I can even type it without blushing) Annabelle cracked us up tonight! She isn't going to be outdone in anything. She can be quite dramatic and is currently practicing her wilted pose with hand turned out over her forehead! LOL. Her Daddy noticed that Cade barely grazed her knee and he thought he would be funny and really make over her like she had been hurt and needed hugs and kisses. She played the part and contorted her face to add credibility. He plopped her on the floor in front of him and thought he would be funny (and such a guy) and "toot" near her to get her back for her sassiness! Goodness! Men! Poor little thing. She got up and took 3 steps away from him ( probably gasping for oxygen), then bent her little knees, stuck her tushie in his direction and sent him a big "toot"! My oh my, you go little girl! Look out world, not sure you're ready for this one! James had to recover for a few minutes as he was laughing so hard!  Who said Southern little ladies don't have backbone! I nearly cried!

There were so many funny things from the week that I've already forgotten! I'll add them if they pop back into this tired brain! :) ha ha!
