Anderson Family

God has blessed us with the wonderful opportunity to have a beautiful, large family! We enjoy the challenges, laughter, love, and growth that come with parenting an amazing daughter in college, an outstanding son in high school, wonderful, although quite busy, boy/girl toddler twins, and a precious little baby girl with Down Syndrome! Life is full of adventure and discovery! We wouldn't have it any other way! We hope you enjoy the "stories" life presents us everyday! This journey is truly a gift!

So grateful for my gifts!

Maybe it was the rain again today or just watching an emotional movie this evening, but I've been reflecting a bit and soaking in the gifts I see around me! I have shared a lot in this blog about the silly, funny parts, but I don't know if I've given enough time to the treasures of this huge family and this sweet life! Being older this time around with little ones, I've finally grasped that everything doesn't have to go right for it to all to be so sweet! I love that! It's sounds odd, but sometimes you realize its just a blessing to be living this life around you...not to just be waiting for the next event, but just the daily stuff. Like getting to chat with Darby at BAMA today and hearing how stressful it can be when you're as involved as she is...just hearing her voice and getting to tell her it will all work out, is the great part!! ( I do wish I could pull her in under my chin, poor little 5'3" thing, and take a big sniff of her hair while stealing a hug)  ..or chatting with Shane about random stuff..we have the neatest conversations about the most interesting topics. That kid knows so much about certain things! Or especially sitting on the porch as the sun went down this evening, after the twins were in bed, feeding my precious baby her last bottle of the day and watching her drift off to sleep, knowing I've made her feel so secure and content for the moment! Then having my husband come sit with me and share about his day. Followed by Shane which reminded me how much I had missed us all having our porch time in the cooler days of spring. We came back inside and I held Abigail for about 2 hours after she fell asleep. I do that almost every night. It's so busy during the day, I have to get my time in  :). I just went in to the twins nursery as I do every night to make sure they're all covered up and set for the night. I wanted to linger and look at their sweet little bodies all peaceful and resting. Annabelle's little eyelashes are so long! Her precious little fingers were still holding the satin trim on her blanket! I couldn't help but rub her soft blond hair! Cade was sprawled out everywhere but looked quite comfy. Those curls were wild! All boy and I wouldn't change it for a minute! I remembered their little bare feet splashing in the rain puddles on Sunday as I covered his little toes up! I could just kiss him to pieces! :) I crept to the door quietly and thought to myself, ( as Darius Rucker sang), "It won't be like this for long" and what a gift to be a part of it!

I have plenty of funny things from the day, and I'll share them tomorrow....if I can remember them then ;) Love to all!
