Had lots of fun today with the little ones! We ran some errands and spent a little time at the park this afternoon! Annabelle was saying, "park" when we got out of the truck to go play! She's picking up several words a day now. Her latest verbal accomplishment is pointing and naming everyone in the family many times throughout the day ( maybe so we won't forget who we are!) She starts with, "daddy" - so clearly, then "mama" then usually "Ca" ( long A, no ending of "de"), and of course, "Sha"-(long A, no ending "ne"). The new parts are that she points at herself and says, "Ah belle", then to the baby "Ah gail" We have a picture of Darby and she gets really close.."dah bu". It's so fun to see her putting it all together in her little mind!
They all seemed to have lots of energy today!- at least a lot more than we did! We did get tickled at dinner when Cade and Annabelle were eating grilled chicken, mac n cheese, and yummy hot biscuits! At one point Cade just started crying horribly and we couldn't figure out why. James finally got a good look at him and realized he had been eating more and more of the fluffy biscuit and unfortunately it was stuck up in the top part of his mouth. It was all level with his upper teeth! He couldn't make his little tongue budge it loose! It was such a pitiful cry! We found it oddly humorous! James had to stick his finger in and get it all out! At which point Cade started giggling because it tickled his mouth so to have a finger rubbing across the tender inside! Such a funny little guy! Annabelle offered him a sippy cup to wash things down!
We cleaned up from dinner and played on the den floor. Cade had been walking around with one of his little socks in his mouth and the other on his foot! He started climbing on Daddy and decided the sock should be placed in Daddy's mouth.....well, ....I just better leave that one alone! I'm not saying we haven't all wanted to do that with eachother at one point or another! ;) Daddy took it in good humor as he wasn't in the middle of talking or anything when it happened! ;)
I really enjoy getting to hold Abigail even more when James is home and can give the twins attention! She also sat in her Bumbo chair for a few minutes here and there throughout the day! So glad she's holding her head up so well. She had lots of smiles to give away today! Sweet little punkin!
It seemed like a good idea to let the twins run around in the back yard with us while we watered plants. ( haven't had real rain in almost 3 weeks) It turned out to be Annabelle trying to water the same plant over and over and Cade trying to push the cart all around the yard and too close to the pond for comfort! She finally determined that Cade needed to be watered again- she did this the last time she had the water hose in her possession! Silly babies! We filled a bucket and let them splash their little hands all in it and all over eachother! (quicker than blowing up their pool) Lots of great giggles!
I announced that it was time for a bath and they came running, screaming, "baaaah baaah! (that's bath) Its a good thing they like them so much! We stripped their wet clothes off in the laundry room and headed to our garden tub! It had been pretty warm outside and I really didn't think about offering them their sippy cups of water as I usually do..I was just more focused on getting all the grass and dirt off of them! I plopped them both in the water and started washing Cade. I thought Annabelle was having fun pouring water down her chin and tummy with a small cup I keep in there to rinse their hair. I soon realized ( on the 3rd time, okay, maybe not "soon") that she was actually filling it with soapy bath water and guzzling it down because she was so thirsty! ( oops..there went the mother of the year award, LOL) Oh my, how dreadful! Needless to say I called for some "real drinking water" and I thought they were going to pop from how much they drank. Humbling!
Finally Daddy took them up to bed! They play a combination of hide and seek and chase around the glider and ottoman! Then he flies them like little airplanes into their beds! They are crazy about him! He prayed and turned their lullabies and little lamp on as he does every night..and then I heard him come out of their room and give the nightly big sigh, as if to say, " whew, another busy day coming to a close and now some down time" :) Sometimes we hear them giggling or "talking" to eachother, but not a word tonight..little tuckered out twins! We are usually quite tired too by 7:30 when they go down! Little Miss Abigail stays up for an 8pm bottle and then loves to drift off in my arms! I pretty much love it too! :)
Shane came home during her last bottle from his photo shoot and dinner with his dad! Sounds like he probably got some good pics! Can't wait to see them!
Got to catch up with Darby briefly over the phone and hear about her weekend! Roll Tide! Miss her so!
Wish we had more of the weekend left to all be together, but it's time to get rested for Monday!!
So thankful for another beautful day with loved ones!
